Sparkle and Shine

Found this ridiculously sparkly disco-y top from Savers for 2 bucks!! I decided that the best time to wear it would be to a dive bar, while pre-celebrating my birthday.

Rings and things

Rings & things
Been finding some fun rings at my local Forever 21 at bargain prices! The ring on the far right was my HS class ring, which I found in an old box at my parents' place. I clearly remember wanting a light blue or pink stone in the center but settled for black onyx because it was the cheapest. Looking back, I'm glad I chose the black onyx because it is more wearable and classic than the colored stones : ) The Cartier ribbon bracelet was gifted by the Cartier vendors that stopped by our store a couple weeks ago. It's actual ceramic which has been doused with their new scent, and first available exclusively at Nordstrom during the anniversary sale (Beginning July 5th for Nordstrom cardholders and July 15th for the public). Yes, I am shamelessly advertising.

As you can tell, I am taking full advantage of the color-blocking trend this season : )

Eye spy with my little eyes...

Been feeling under the weather for the past week, which is forcing me to "try" and rest up, which is actually quite hard for me to do. Sitting still all day isn't in my dictionary, so I tried keeping my eyes busy with eye candy to oogle at. Here are some things that caught my attention:

Left: Moschino pencil dress Right: Lanvin embellished patent sandals from Net-A-Porter.com

Bows: I've always loved bows, whether they were in my hair as a child, tied as a ribbon on my dresses, on my flats, etc. etc. I find myself attracted yet again, but this time in a more grown-up manner.

Boots. I can never get enough of them. Since I was literally nine, I've been wearing boots because I love them so much. These suede studded boots from Urban Outfitters shout simplicity, while the studs give it an added boost!

I also like these semi-boots by Christian Louboutin, its got some crazy fringe action going on, which makes it special. It's a shame a pair of these cost 1K+.

Accessories from Urban Outfitters. I love how unique the brass bracelet looks, I'm sure it's crazy on, but what a great statement piece! The filligree ring is also very dainty and charming. I think filligree anything always looks fantastic. The last item on the bottom right isn't from UO, but net-a-porter.com. It's a Roberto Cavalli stone ring that reminds me of my field trips in elementary school, when we would visit science museums and I would bring polished stones back from the gift shops. What a treasure that was.

Faux leather vest from Urban Outfitters

Blush-beige pink: I love pink, but it is such a hard color to pull off sometimes. I always fear looking like a middle school kid when I wear it, but this shade of pink has become my fave. It looks grown up and sophisticated in an Audrey Hepburn kind of way. Mix that with leather and you have perfection!

Feeling floral.

Purple-ish blue petals have been covering the floors of Pasadena like a carpet of freshly fallen snow. They're beautiful, but a pain to walk on (think of walking on banana peels).

I went on an accessory run to F21 yesterday and picked up this gray necklace with ruffled flowers hung on gross grain ribbon. Something about it reminded me of Chanel so of course I was instantly in love. Recently, I've been in the mood for light ruffled flowers, perhaps it's a belated Spring response.

I also had a chance to stop by Urban Outfitters for their Yard Sale, but didn't find any clothing items I really liked. I did however, pick up a knotted mesh chain belt that I plan on wearing as a necklace. Dual purpose= more bang for my buck.

My good friend Michelle also told me about her 3rd grade class performance today, so I decided to play camera-woman and check it out. They reenacted Native Folktales and had costumes, backdrops, props and everything. It reminded me of my elementary school days of acting and the time I had the opportunity to play Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Those were my few moments in the spotlight. Sigh, pleasant memories.

Oogling over...

I just made the mistake of checking out Net-a-porter.com to see what was in their sale section. Some of the items have been greatly reduced, but still out of my budget. Some drool-worthy items I found:

Left: Marni leather platforms $294

Right: Christian Louboutin Ariella Talon 120 boots $427 (this man sure knows how to make women swoon over his shoes!)

Kara by Kara Ross
gold plated silver python cuff- $168

Lanvin reporter leather bag-$722

On a more wallet-friendly level, Urban Outfitters is having a rummage yard sale from June 14th-21st at their stores. All items will be $10 & $20! I'm tempted to walk over there right now...

Today, I was also super excited to find out that I have the Fashion TV in HD channel. Either I never realized this, or it's just a promo. They showed the Paris Fashion Week coverage, along with model interviews, footage from model photo sessions and more runway shows...

Currently into: Eniko Mihalik- Hungarian model for Chanel, Missoni, Gucci, Givenchy, Zac Posen, cover of Vogue and more.
