My year-long quest for a real leather jacket has finally ended. After perusing through several stores, websites and more than two countries, I finally found The One. The price, material and fit were just right...another plus for the studded detailing. This jacket came all the way from the other side of the world and onto my doorstep. Extra big thanks to my loverly Hubby who ordered it for me as part of my Christmas present! I feel so grateful.

Falling in love with Fall.

Collage credits: Fashiongirl
I decided to change the layout of my blog for a cleaner, simpler look. I enjoy change when it comes to aesthetics, so who knows how long I'll keep it for...
I love the sultry color palette done sexily by Chanel. Very vampire-esq...perfect for the upcoming Twilight sequel, New Moon. I can't believe its almost been a year since I got into the series!
Recent DIY projects:

Was bored one day and bought a box of tiny gold pins to make one of those popular safety pin DIY projects. Maybe I'll do a crazier project when I'm in the mood...

Just finished stitching a gold/black string embellishment onto a jacket I hardly wear anymore, in order to create a subtle "band jacket" look. Please disregard the lack of style in my stay-at-home outfit and say "hello" to my pup, Moch. I was going to add more to it, but got tired of pricking my fingers with the needle. I really need to invest in a sewing machine...

Celebrate and dance are free...
Some looks I created for my cousin's upcoming bday dinner...all from Forever 21!
Saturday: Went to my cousin's baby shower, the theme was "Neverland." It was quite the magical experience...
Sunday: Went to a friend's wedding at the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens. The bride was beautifully stunning and so was the location.

3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2009

Ruffles, hot pink, blush-pink, camel, fur, leather, gold sparkles, gloves...my eyes are going haywire from eye-candy overload! The last dress reminds me of the one I picked up at the garage sale, which makes me feel rather delighted. Another fall item to consider purchasing: bordeaux-colored stockings.
Seeing these photos make me even more antsy for Autumn. The heat wave and wildfires in our area have been making the end of the summer quite unbearable. I've always loved summer as a child, but as I grew older, I started looking forward to Fall. Even though it is rare to find colorful leaves trickling off branches in SoCal, I take the time to spot each one.
There's always the feeling of starting something new during the Fall, even more so than the new year. It's the start of festivities, school years and (at least in CA) weather changes. Also, summer fashion feels so dreary and mundane-- shorts, tanks, dresses, sandals (repeat). I prefer blazers, layering, scarves, boots, coats, stockings, leather, etc... Basically, I choose ice over fire. Maybe I should consider moving...

Blood is thicker than water.
The above photos were taken by my lil sis again. Like most of our family, she has a good eye for photography, especially the subject of people! I guess this outfit counts as my "thrifty ensemble for the day." Ivory tank-dress: $8, red striped tank from UO: $5, Target leggings that I cut off myself: $7, headband from F21: $5.80, belt: free from mom
Photos taken from my lil sister Melody.

I wanna rock with you...

More pieces that have caught my attention. Above is a beautiful leather jacket, something similar to what I've been looking for, but 10 times above my price range...
I go through strange phases in my life when it comes to fashion, and currently I've been tired of the ultra-femme/girly-girl look. I used to love it while working at Anthropologie, but lately I've been craving more edge and rock n' roll. I guess this phase came at the right time, as this upcoming season will be filled with leather, studs, metal, gilt, buckles, hardware and sequins, oh my!
